Open E-Books Why teachers would care about this app? ANY book on this app that is available to our students is available to ALL students at once. So, if there is something that could support your classroom, then it is available to everyone for free. Students can access this on their phone or anywhere. Doodlecast Pro a. What it is: Doodlecast Pro is a whiteboard app that allows the user to create a voice-over slide show with annotations (notes). b. Why I like it. 1. I can adapt it to many standards. Especially if you want students to show their knowledge of a chart, diagram, or map. 2. It is a non-threatening way to give students a voice to their knowledge. 3. It is a way of providing information that many tech companies other professions use as a way of publishing information, c. How I used it: I had my students use this app for the first time as a presentation tool. Students uploaded a picture of song lyrics into the program, highlighted lines that exemplified types of figurative language we have been studying, and then explained song lyrics. Through this students were able to present information in a non-threatening environment. "It is teachers who have created positive teacher student relationships that are more likely to have the above average effects on student achievement." -John Hattie Why Visible Learning?

Having trouble with kids turning in assignments. Send them an email and tag the parents in the email. That way the students know that someone else is watching. Even better let parents know they can sign up for the Parent Canvas app to monitor their child’s grades and missing assignments. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/canvas-parent/id1097996698?mt=8 Send an announcement to your class in Canvas If you don’t already know about this feature, watch the video about how to send an announcement to your students.
